State and history
Chail which is situated at 2,226 meters above sea level and located on Sadh Tiba hill, is a very beautiful place in Himachal Pradesh. Patiala’s Maharaja Bhupinder Singh was banished from Shimla by order of Lord Kitchener. To take revenge on this, Bhupinder Singh made Chail his capital of the time and built the beautiful Chail Mahal here.
