Located at an elevation of 1,986 meters, Matiul Peak is situated in the east of the city and it can be easily seen from here. In the north of the city is Karol Peak, which is the highest peak in this region. Solan is similar to base camp for other hill stations like Kandaghat, Kasauli, Chail and Dagshai.
